Especially in Columbus. That is the hardest ticket to get in this state. He is still a weenie. Except to shake his hand in passing I have never met him. He seems like an alright guy. Not someone I would hang out with, but I'm not someone that he would like to hang out with either. I've never really been the wine and cheese sort, not even while attending college at a preppy school in northern Ohio. Beer and pretzels all the way.

I thought you said back in 2002, that it took your friend Jim Beam to help get you trough some of those close one's.

I have been known to take a snort of Jim Beam from time to time.

Actually, I believe he got off lucky. I know the ESPN link said he was answering a question about TCU and Boise State, but I never did see his interview. In his answer, he specifically mentioned that the SEC and Big Ten don't play "The Sisters of the Poor" but he said nothing about the PAC-10, Big 12, ACC, and Big East (I guess the Big East really doesn't count). So, I really don't know why the media didn't go to those other conference representatives for a response.

It is too bad that the media was to chicken to go after the SEC because Gee's comment about them was not true either. First of all, not every SEC team is good. Secondly, most SEC schools didn't play SEC schools week in and week out. Arkansas and Florida were the only two teams that did not take a week off before playing Alabama (LSU and Alabama each had a week off before playing each other). Florida was the only SEC school that played its entire SEC schedule consecutively (not counting weeks off). Every other SEC school played an FCS school or a non-AQ opponent somewhere in their SEC conference schedule.

Gee's comments were in the context of being a president of an SEC and B - 10 school so he was speaking to that.

We all get caught us in the spirit of this. There have never been so many Oregon fans in Oregon as there is right now. Everyone sports their shirts.......Wait till next year...they will all have been given to Goodwill and they will just wait to see what bandwagon to jump on. Gee is no different...he just happens to be President of an very influential school...He has paid his tribute to the "Sisters." Nothing like a bunch of 'rabid' nun fans.

I have put my foot in my mouth on more than 1 occasion! Pretty humorous looking at all the backpeddling and explanations out of the OSU camp.
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

At least Dr. Gee realizes he is a weenie. I guess if you know, you have age up.
