The ACC Championship

Postby WoVeU » Sat Dec 04, 2010 9:12 am

BB...I haven't seen the Noles for 5 or 6 weeks. What do they need to do in this game? Or what are you looking for early from them?

They need to stay warm. Temps expected in upper 30's with a light rain and breeze. A bad game to be a fan...

Football wise...

....Stop Tyrod's runs up the middle and try to bend but not break on the running game. Make 'em kick for three. Stopping the VT runnning game and stopping Tyrod will be the key...and VT is much better now than earlier in the year...Tyrod is playing better & he's the key.

....The Noles may be in trouble playing in a cold rain when they absolutely depend on the passing game. Ponder is not 100% and they have drained his elbow this week. If it tightens up, he'll be less effective.

....The Noles #1 and #2 RB will be out. They'll be playing Debrale Smiley some and I have not seen the #5 RB this year.

...The Nole O line on the right side has been shuffled around due to injury. The left side should be OK but the right is suspect.

To win. the Noles absolutely must have some turnovers.

And...this game, although at a neutral site, for all practical matters will be a VT homegame type crowd. The Noles have to get settled and not let the crowd rattle them.

FSU needs to tell Virginia Tech the game has been moved to Durham so the Hokies won't show up and therefore win on forfeit. That is their only chance. This will be the biggest blowout of any of the championship games today.

Just happy to be there..as they say.

VT is a tough team with their running backs and their mobile QB, their defense and special teams ain't shabby either. VT by 7 to 10 is my guess...

Uh oh...this isn't good! Ponder not starting? I knew he had been stiff with the arm problem but I thought he would start...

I wasn't laughing because I didn't believe the temps would be in the mid 30's. Just that you thought that was bad. That is pretty typical where I'm from.

Sitting 3 1/2 hours in rain in the 30's is not typical of Big Ten football...the average temp for Big 10 games was 59 degrees.

Thirty degrees may be typical,,,it was that in Tallahassee this morning. But it is not typical B-10 football weather.

Now...with a championship game extending past Thanksgiving, the Big Ten has a chance to have some nasty weather that is more fall like than winter like.

Not if the play in a Dome. We have had snow today, but not much. Maybe an inch with 28 degree weather. Temps are fairly typical for late fall. 25-35, it's just usually dry this time of year. The first three weeks of November is the wet part of fall around here. We typically don't get snow for a couple weeks yet.

Pulling for Flor State...I don't believe a team that can not even beat an FCS school should play in a BCS bowl.
