Pryor gone...

Just announced. Most people I know are happy he is gone. I'm just kind of sad. He isn't ready for the NFL, at least as a QB. I wish him well, but if half the stuff coming out about him are true, I am really sorry no one stood up and made him "get it". He said he wanted to finish his degree and I hope that is the case. This is one kid Ohio State failed in a big way.

I don't like cheating. But I have a particular distaste for people who take advantage of these kids. These memorabilia guys are worse than agents, car dealers, or even coaches who look the other way. I have never bought any signed memorabilia for any reason, but this kind of stuff is out of control and nation wide. The athletes are really getting taken advantage of and they think these guys are helping them. Pryor will never take a snap under center in a pro football game. He may play receiver, but he isn't close to being ready to be a QB.

I hope this investigation gets it all out in the open at Ohio State and they can limit it if not stop it.

Not a surprise he wouldn't be on the football team. Not finishing his degree isnt the best move. I'm not sure Canadian football is worth leaving school.

I know nothing about Pryor. But like so many kids that make mistakes, in the big time programs, they become throw aways. But of course, "we wish him well."

I agree. He does have the option of coming back to finish his schooling at anytime, but you are correct that most people here are glad he left. I'm glad he isn't part of the football team, but I hope he decides to finish school.

I'm sure Pryor did what they said he did. I don't care what they prove. I, personally do not think that Pryor is the end. Ohio State had plenty of guys standing in line and these guys were the ones who failed the test.

He does what every other defendant does, follows the advice of his attorney. The difference here is, he has not, I don't think he has been, charged with a crime. But yet we act like he is. This idea of giving this power like unto the law to voluntary organizations is a far bigger issue than just the NCAA.

Why not run the NCAA like any other Industry Association that have rules of conduct and ethics, they all do. If they do something egregious, kick them out. Say you do not represent our standards, you can no longer be a member. And the membership gets to vote on that. Works for Rotary, Lions, Funeral Directors, ABA, AMA and of course, the KGB...although their kicking out is a little more permanent.
