All-SEC Team for 2011

Postby Derek » Thu Jul 14, 2011 8:29 pm

Boy, Alabama and Arkansas are loaded in this chart. Georgia is 3rd with 9 players. Doss??

http://www.secdigitalnetwork.com/NEWS/tabid/473/Article/226956/2011-sec-coaches-preseason-all-sec-team.aspx

I'm convinced that if you could get these players together on one team, they could beat a professional team....probably the Lions. eric?? 8)
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Arkansas has 14 players on the list (and I think they undervalued a few players). Makes me smile to see Arkansas have more than Bama. :D Now can they take that talent and turn in into 14 wins?

Arkansas is loaded this year all over the field...on offense and defense. They will be thin at linebacker, and not go as deep at OL as I would like (lots of players with little experience backing up the starters but have been in the system waiting their turn the past couple of years).

Ark has 4 WR's named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list.

That week 4 game: ARK vs Bama should be a good one!

Georgia may well win the SEC East this year.

I'd be fairly high on Akansas's chances in the west if it weren't for three things...

...Arkansas's lack of depth on the O line at tackle.
...Alabama
...LSU

You put Arkansas in any other conference in the nation and I think they would be the favorite to win (or very close to it). However, they are in a division with Bama and LSU and have to travel to both of those locations this year. I think anything less than 10 wins is a HUGE disappointment this year. I think if Ark can win week 4 at Bama the skies the limit.

Billybud...you are correct, the O-line at tackle will determine whether Ark can take that next step. Ark will start a true freshman at left tackle...5 star recruit Brey Cook (from Springdale, AR). He is 6' 7" and weighs 317. He graduated high school early and took part in spring ball. He is a stud and if he does not sustain an injury will be a 1st round NFL draft pick in a few years.
