College Fight Songs

Postby Dossenator » Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:24 pm

I just came across this. The newly formed Symphony Orchestra of Northwest Arkansas (SONA) performed a very cool arrangement of the Arkansas Fight Song recently. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/embed/qEtnrdWxBC4

I know I have not heard all the schools fight songs...so post away.

Thanks for posting. I had never heard the Boise fight song, and I enjoyed it.

I was driving home from the golf course yesterday and had created a playlist on my Garmin GPS that was contained MP3s of College Bands. The Garmin plays them through the FM Radio on 88.1 or any unused frequency. I thought I would start a thread on favorite college bands, but remembered that we did that a year or so ago.

One of the reasons that I was actually hoping for the Texas Aggies to get into the SEC was their band.

My favorites:
Symphony of NW Arkansas
Texas A&M
Texas
Michigan
Wisconsin
Notre Dame

Not sure if the actual school fight song affects my selects, but I presume so.

I.ve always been of the opinion that music died sometime in the eighties. Maybe disco pushed it over the edge.

They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

My favorite is Wisconsin's alma mater. EVERYONE in that stadium knows all the words (this rendition doesn't have all of them). At the same time EVERYONE waves their arms back and forth. Puts chills down my spine whenever I attend with my Boilers. http://fightmusic.com/mp3/big10/Wisconsin__Varsity.mp3

Man am I fired up listening to these songs. Here is one that should be copied by everyone. To the best of my knowledge Purdue started this about 35 years ago. Pretty meaningful start to every game! http://fightmusic.com/mp3/big10/Purdue_ ... n_American).mp3

warriorsfan808.....good to see you...I was sad BSU got the greed fever and bailed from the WAC...I think it will burn them sooner rather than later...we shall see. Actually I like the looks of the WAC. Schools of a similar size and communities. Have the same types of base. I think it shall be competitive. I wish Hawaii well.

They likely wouldn't have a clue . . .

This groups popularity spiked in the early 90's. So, you'd be in you'd need a thirty something to give you the skimmy here.

And yes, Spence;

This would suggest that you'd still be unaware of who these guys are 8)

Guess this goes back to me being a pup, huh?
