Joe Adams SEC Special Teams POY...and

Postby Dossenator » Fri Dec 09, 2011 7:06 pm

Arkansas Wide Receiver Joe Adams was named the SEC Special Teams player of the year. He leads the nation with most punt return TD's (3) and leads the nation with the highest return average per punt (over 16 yards per punt). Only two other teams in all of college football have returned 3 punts for TD's...Adams did that by himself. Adams is the only player in the nation with rushing, receiving, and multiple punt return TD's in 2011.

Adams was named to the Walter Camp All-American 2nd team, and is a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award. Hornung Award goes to the nations most versatile college football player.

I will miss not seeing Adams play on Saturdays for the Hogs after the Cotton Bowl.
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).

Adams is one of those guys that make a team worth watching all by himself! The fact that Ark had a really good team this year on top of that gets you into one of those football modes where nothing can be done that might risk you not being if front of the TV at kickoff.

*I have already made a note to especially appreciate Tavon Austin next season, as those kind of guys don't come around too often!
