My brother has a sportster. He is the same. I had several when I was younger, I haven't rode for a long time. I finally got around to selling my last bike a couple of years ago. I hadn't rode it forever, but It took me a long time to finally let it go.

He got the sportster as a gift to himself when he got back from Germany. A sportster is a perfect bike for a 24 year old. I rode dirt bikes as a kid. I always liked fast. The last bike I rode was an 1100ES. Didn't ever do much touring, but I did wind it out a few times. I liked that kind of stuff too much, my wife respectfully asked me to retire to four wheels. Funny thing is, I don't have any desire for speed in a car. I guess it was the wind in the face that made it fun.

Nothing like being heeled over in a curve at way stupid speed with your head saying "uh oh" and your heart pounding.

As the song says..it's a soul afraid of dyin' that never learns to live.

Fate has had its shot at me but I love to ride fast...like to lay it down and dare riders behind me to hold the curve with me...
