And we shouldn't reward a team with zero wins against a top 30 team with a bowl either.....

Well at least them we would be back to 5 or 6 bowls.

New Years Day as it once was...bowl day.

Just the big boys played....everybody had to watch Notre Dame and Michigan and Ohio State....of course FSU was in the Cigar Bowl but it wasn't televised.

Mr. D...we are indeed living in football's golden age...we can watch 6-6 teams in bowls, teams that haven't beaten a good team in a bowl, we can watch, watch, watch...

Like camels drinking and drinking at the waterhole, filling up for the long trek in the 8 month football desert that is ahead.

...and in my twilight years...I am not as excited about sloshing through the wind, rain and cold to go watch games as I once was....so TV is a cure for that.....(I know..some areas of the Fruited Plain does not have wind, rain and cold...well...only in epidemic portions periodically.

Definitely, as I get older I don't feel like traveling to go to a game, and miss a couple other games being played on the same day.

My last big bowl trip was about 10 years ago. I called an older friend of mine that lived in Ocala and asked him, "Do you want to go bowling"? He replied, "Have you lost your f#@king mind"? I then explained that we would take my motorhome and he and his black Labrador would go to San Antonio for the Alamo bowl between Iowa and Texas Tech and then up to Dallas for the Arkansas vs Oklahoma game. We hooked up with Goboilers in San Antonio, and spent a couple of nights in the Cotton Bowl Motorhome parking area. Dallas was super cold, and the game sucked, but it was truly a memorable trip.

A couple of years later, My wife, her brother and his wife, took the motorhome to the Orange Bowl to watch a Carson Palmer led USC kill Iowa, after Iowa returned the opening kickoff for a TD.

I love Costco...they are so easy to work with

Took my TV back this morning and got a smaller Samsung 60" 6450 3d model....I'll set it up in a few minute.

I got nervous about the quality of the big Vizio....and I have always liked Sammies.

Vizio does well on consumer reports, but I have never owned one. I like Sony TV's, I have always had good experiences with them. I never by the extended warranty. They fixed a TV a year out of the factory warranty for me for free.

Sharp makes some Sony flat panel screens...there is a lot of interbrand parts.

I really like the Samsung picture on this 60 inch LED. It streams HD movies from Vudu well..we'll be watching games on it..

My son is coming over tomorrow to pick up the older Samsung 55 I am giving him along with a Samsung BluRay dvd/Hometheater...and the tickets to the bowl...part of his Christmas present.

I think that both Sony and Samsung build their TV's in the same factory and they also use the same panels. I have looked at Samsung and I don't see much difference in the picture. I am trying to see how different the RGB backlighting compared white LED technology. In the story they look very similar and the Samsung is the better value.

Your son should be pretty happy with his present. That is a pretty cool thing to do.

It's all in your eye....what you see, in your particular environment.

We like the plasma picture...we are keeping our Samsung 50 plasma for the BR. Our family room has two walls of glass that extend up two stories to an 18 foot flat ceiling..a lot of light and glare. The LED LCD is bright and cuts through the brightness for daytime viewing.

The plasma has excellent blacks and a sharp picture but can looked washed out in bright light.

The Sony XBR series are very good TV's...

I've never owned a plasma as Sony decided not to pursue them. I have an XBR46. It is plenty of TV for the room I have it in. Sony mostly fixed the motion problems with the LCD's so you can watch a football game without seeing much judder. The blacks are good, not as good as plasma, but good. In theory the LED's should last ten plus years, something you couldn't get out of the LCD's with CCFL backlighting. I'm hoping the make me want to go out and get one. I don't watch lots of TV. Some sports and news, that is about it. I just don't like to pay three grand for something that only lasts three to four years.

We've got a Hoffman a Hoffman Television.
I like Hoffman yes I do, my whole family likes it too.
so for easy on your vision, buy a Hoffman Television.

Green screen to protect your eyes...and don't sit too close because the ...something it gives off will blind you..and don't play with your self because that will blind you...and don't run with scissors because that will blind you and don't shoot bb guns because they will blind you..and don't sharpen that stick because that will blind you.....Wonder I can see
