This is it for them. They have to turn in a long time consuming touchdown drive.

Big Ten proved that we are second fiddle.
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

How does Bielema try and spike the ball with 2 seconds? What an idiot. I can't believe that even he would try something that stupid.

We have to get better to be second fiddle.

3rd fiddle? I don't blame the spike on Bilelma, the QB needs to be more proactive. The timeouts wasted did do Wisky in and for that Bielma really goofed up.

The QB should have been proactive, but I would bet that call came from the sideline. Wilson is no Drew Brees, I doubt he gets that much rope from the sideline.

Outcoached....Kelly is a master at time management and not giving the ball up. Terrible game..no defense...but that last spike should have never happened....like throwing the ball in the end zone was a big mystery. Terrible. Now we have to put up with the arrogant Ducks.

It isn't hard to out coach Bielema.
You will just have to stay out of Oregon. I know Washington and Oregon are close, but they aren't that close.

I'm not surprised that the Big 10 went 1-4 today (I was surprised that my early picks went 0-4
). I think the pundits who dump on the B1G are those who think the B1G and their fans consider them to be best conference or close-second to the SEC and consider going 1-4 to be "exposing" the B1G. Most intelligent college football fans know it is the top of the SEC and everybody else. No conference (besides perhaps the Big 12) are really that close this year, and it was down year by "SEC Standards." As bad as last year was, this year was much more competitive for the B1G. Losing to Oregon by one score on a spike with no time remaining, to Florida by a touchdown caused by two special teams TDs, and Nebraska playing top 10 South Carolina tight for most of the game is not a crime in my eyes.
Also, as I've continued to reiterate, I don't have a dog in the Big Ten fight (besides Michigan, of course). I wouldn't care what they did as a collective unit if the dumping wasn't so vociferous. I'm not going to apologize for the bowl record because it has been far from impressive, but I don't see it as Armageddon and most conferences wouldn't do much better against two top-tier SEC schools and another conference champ in the Rose Bowl (I'm looking at the Big East, ACC, Pac-12, and the Big 12 for most seasons).

How about this beautiful comment from Chris Fowler at halftime of the early games. During the Outback Bowl break, he said that Big Ten defenses were "being exposed". Excuse me? Let's recap what had happened that point up to the half: Penn State was getting ripped to shreds, but they have a lot of issues they needed to deal with, with the scandal and all that. They had nothing left in the tank and had a terrible backup QB who couldn't keep them off the field. Ohio State had given up 14 points at the halfway mark (with one being a kickoff return for a TD). Nebraska had allowed 16 points by virtue of shutting down the Gamecocks for the most part and then allowing an inexplicable hail mary touchdown at the end of the half. Michigan State had held Georgia to 16 points at the half, with one of the scores coming by virtue of a kickoff return. So Big 10 defenses that were "exposed" (sans Penn State) had allowed 4 touchdowns in three games, one being a hail mary. Come on.

Re: It ain't pretty
Wisconsin played Oregon tough considering that Wisky would have problems with any speed team that can pass because the Badger defensive backs aren't cheetahs. Wilson, as I predicted preseason, make the Badgers much better and he made the game closer than it could have been. Not an outing to be ashamed of by any means. The spike was a risky call...the QB/Center let a full second tick off after the ref started the clock before the hike. The Center had to hike on the "start" signal.
The Bucks were just not very good. Florida's offense is bad, they scored 11 or less in four games (7 or less in two). The young OSU QB looked to have trouble going through his progressions and finding the open guy. A QB must process quickly...experience should help that processing.
PSU? I don't know what to say. They looked really, really bad.
Nebraska....Scissors cut paper, rock breaks scissors, speed kills the Big 10. This wasn't close.

Big 12

I don't know what you want Nebraska to do here. South Carolina's entire defensive line is going to be playing in the NFL in a few years. Alfonzo Dennard got beat by Alshon Jeffrey once or twice deep, but he isn't "slow". The guy is going to be a 1st round pick and will be covering NFL receivers next season. The final score is misleading, even though South Carolina was clearly in control late in the game. Martinez is not much of a passer and tends to get streaky.

Ohio State's defense only gave up one score in the game. Special teams were awful and typically the offense was bad, though not quite as bad as we have seen. Really, Ohio State played about as expected, I just thought that Florida would score more. Ohio State's offense has been so terrible this year that I didn't think they would muster a score in the game.

Oh I know about South Carolina...FSU played them last bowl season. Everyone on the two deep defensive chart played FSU last year with the exception of Quarles and Clowney (they are loade3d with juniors and seniors this year). They do have a nice defensive front.
If you can't make space with the passing game, you will have a difficult time winning with just the rush against the Gamecocks.
Nebraska had 64 yards of offense in the second half. They could not cope with USCe's team speed on defense.
In a game, one or two gamebreakers makes a difference. USCe had a big, tall, strong receiver who could go verticle and snag a "throw it up" yet also catch with a lay it out dive. And that is the advantage of having a few of those guys.
