Postby warrriorsfan808 » Sat Aug 25, 2012 3:23 am

Now I'm only using the dominate top 5 teams I'm sure our number crunchers can do this better, but here goes.......

BOISE ST. BAMA LSU USC OKA ORE

10 12-1 10-3 11-2 8-5 12-2 12-1
09 14-0 14-0 9-4 9-4 8-5 10-3
08 12-1 12-2 8-5 12-1 12-2 10-3
07 10-3 7-6 12-2 11-2 11-3 9-4
06 13-0 6-7 11-2 11-2 11-3 7-6

You are doing fine, if anyone cared. I, have decided, I do not care about National Rankings. My opinion on the nature of the self-aggrandizing, arrogant, big-headed, conceited, egotistical, , full of hot air, , hot stuff, know-it-all,, on ego trip, pompous, , puffed-up, loudmouth, cocky, self-applauding, snooty, , highfalutin, stuck-up, bombastic, swaggering, swanky, swollen-headed, strutting, too big for one's britches, windbag biased, smart-alecky, pretentious, crowing, exultant, vaunting and vainglorious ranking system is well known to this board and other members of the Illuminati.

But I applaud you in your quixotic effort. If it were not for dreamers, the world would have ended long ago. I think the "ol' biscuit burner" may be weakening to go to the land of sand and shorts, if I promise not to wear them.

PS The general feeling in Boise, which is not based on much humility, is they have been screwed again this year in the pre-season rankings and that if they do well, the broken record will still be playing the same old verse.

PPS Boise just accepted to join the Big West for all non football conference sports. So the tie to Hawaii still hangs on. I think that is where they should be playing football, but what do I know about geography?

Heck..I just don't know why they put Bama into the NC game instead of Boise State....

But there is a common salient among all of the teams that you listed excepting Boise...an SOS ranked #35 or lower.

Bama, LSU, USC, and Oregon, etc., last year had an SOS ranked from 60 to 35 places tougher than Boise. You can crunch the numbers, but the value of wins still counts.

I like Boise, but have no problems with the SEC match up for the NC last year. Two 12-1 teams, one with an SOS of #7 and one with an SOS of #15.

Ands...if FSU runs the table this year...they would be long odds to play in the NC game...because of an SOS that will probably be above #50.

Boise started a little lower because they lost their premier QB....Southwick will start.

Teams with new QB's replacing an elite QB usually drop a place or three...Southwick is a junior and has some experience, but he isn't Kellen Moore.
Stanford without Luck, Oklahoma State without Weeden, and Baylor without Robert Griffin have all dropped.

Texas is also a QB away from being ranked very high.
