Yeah; the game changing play of the week . . . The ref who chose to Not throw that flag.

It was fourth down; 15 yards, with momentum . . .
Instead; turnover on downs . . .

Major bad call.

Anyone else see it?

And in a sign it could be one of those seasons, we had a Kent State player go for a random 58 yard jog. :P

I just thank God for that guy that it was a play that didn't matter in a lopsided game anyway. Makes it a little easier when he gets ripped on watching the game video.

By the way, how is it everybody on both teams plus the commentators all collectively forgot that a muffed punt can't be moved? :? Season starting cobwebs, I guess...

Two FCS teams won over FBS squads last night; to say they were upsets would be pushing it. Eastern Washington and McNeese are top tier FCS; Idaho and Middle Tennessee and bottom tier FBS.

Minnesota and UNLV going to OT I didn't expect!

collegefbfan8898, I was also disappointed that the "mad scientist" didn't make it competitive with BYU.

Looking forward to Saturday and the marquee matchups! :D

Boise's toast tonight. I was actually surprised that Michigan State pushed them around on the ground a little bit. A lot of mistakes and miscues, especially from Joe Southwick. But, it was his first start of his career, so I guess that's not a complete surprise. If he didn't slip on that throw we'd be talking about a completely different game.

Also, most confusing game of the night goes to Florida Atlantic / Wagner. Wagner is a team with a losing record in 2011 in an FCS conference that is considered one of the lesser conferences in the FCS and they were winning 3-0 until early in the 4th quarter. Florida Atlantic is really going to struggle. And I agree that EWU / Idaho and McNeese / MTSU weren't upsets at all. Eastern Washington just outclassed Idaho and would be the second-best team in the WAC behind Louisiana Tech.

Hardly toast, but they were not prepared and frankly Michigan State, other than Bell, did not look that hot. Missed assignments, unsure of what was going on. Southwick has very little field savvy. I think both teams will have mediocre seasons. Really disappointed in the confusion on Boise States player's part.

Boise did not look good tonight. Hard to believe they only lost by 4. Turnovers definitely kept them in the game (especially the pick 6). Boise could not run the ball at all: 37 total yards on 24 carries (1.5 yard a carry average). If they do not get that fixed they may lose several games this season. Passing game did not look much better than the rushing game. And after all that they were in the game in the 4th quarter. Crazy how football works sometimes.
