You know what game I've been anxious to see

I've said before that unlike most other Michigan fans, the Notre Dame rivalry is pretty much on par with the Ohio State one for me. Not sure what it is, but growing up I had so much fun hating on Notre Dame and most of the games were so exciting (I would probably say 1999 or 2011 were my favorites). The last decade or so has probably put a damper on the Ohio State game for me since Michigan has been getting it's clock cleaned

I am very interested in Rutgers @ Arkansas because that's a game that even a short-handed Arkansas team can win. I think Rutgers is very good but the jury is definitely still out on them. I think it will be a competitive game.

Never thought I'd say, "I have to see the Rutgers - Ark game."
No, FSU-Clemson is for the division and very, very likely the ACC. Wow, so early!
The Oklahoma and K State game should be good.

Love to see Auburn, Cal, Oregon St, and Mizzou win. And yes, even Zona win, just so Oregon can make room and I can see WVU in the top 10 and 3 coaches from WV in the top 15.

If Arkansas doesn't slip laxitive in the soup at the team meal, I'm betting on Rutgers to handle Arkansas.

Tyler Wilson has practiced all week but doctors have not cleared him for contact.

I will be at the game. Not expecting much. I think if Arkansas has quit then Rutgers wins by as many points as they want. John L came into his Monday press conference lecturing the media. Said they should be smiling and get their chins of the floor. He then screamed at them "if you don't then I ain't talking." Can the guy not act professional at all? Arkansas has suffered it's worst two losses in it's history back to back and he wants to smile.

I just read that John L Smith is in debt to creditors more than 25 million dollars. I am not thinking his 800,000 dollar salary is going to help him much. You think his mind is proccupied with something other than football and this team.

I just don't get it. Smith was an absolute know quantity when you hired him. His technique, quirks and eccentricity was no secret. He disclosed his financial woes before he signed his ten month contract. So why are so many in Arkansas surprised? Since Broyles and Holtz, coaching at Arkansas has been a merry-go-round. Fans, and school administration, have not a coach since. Seems to me, and I just know what I read and listen to, most of which may or may not even be true, but time the administration razorbacked up and take some responsibility for doing a lousy job of hiring.

I think the the Hogs this year have done what happens to a lot of teams, I do not think they are as bad as you indicate. Some injuries, especially Wilson really hurt. You shouldn't have lost to LM, but it was OT and that stuff happens and I can't think of any school where it hasn't and won't happen. Getting beat by Alabama, the score seems like a slaughter, but I watched the game, and frankly, in my opinion that had to do with Alabama. I can not imagine your game is the only game with them that is going to be that score this year. Their third team with subs from the scout team will roll over most team in this country. I watched the game, on TV, and frankly even with Wilson, I do not think the results would have been too much different. Alabama controls the line of scrimmage, the single most important thing to do to win games, and I have not seen anyone that has coming even close to challenging them on that issue.

You have had a rough start, certainly down from expectations, just keep your dauber up; besides, as much as it drives me crazy, I like it when you see the positive in everything. I'm pulling for you which is saying a lot because I can't see one positive thing about the ESPN/SEC.

I think that is right. The administration has to take the credit/blame for John L Smith. Everyone knew who he was, so it should not have come as a surprise to the adminstration. I assumed that they hired him because he was the only one with head coaching experience that would take the job knowing it was probably going to be a one year proposition. I also think the admistration was hoping it would work out better than it has, but John L is being John L. He isn't doing anything at Arkansas that he didn't do everywhere else. His meltdown usually comes a little later in his tenure, but other than that, he is completely consistent with who he is. It is just an unfortunate situation for Arkansas. It looks as if the Adminstration decided to bite the bullet on this year because they had little choice since Petrino put them in such an awful hole with his behavior. That is kind of the Arkansas administration's fault too because they hired him knowing who he was going in to it.

It is a bad thing that Administrations feel so much pressure to hire a coach who wins know matter the cost. That is what I fear Ohio State has done with Meyer. I have never been a Meyer fan because I don't think he has proven himself anywhere. He has taken other people's recruited talent and done well, but I don't know he has ever built a team. But he was the hottest prospect out there and the powers that be had to have him. I think that is too often the case and it usually comes back to bite you in the butt.

I feel for you Doss, I truly do. I almost came here to comment on John L when I saw that press conference, what a joke! Has to be hard when you see them promise of the team...starting to look like the old SWC days. Petrino now this stuff, just has to leave you baffled and rather shocked. I love Lou Holtz, Ark just rake up a pile of money and ask for 3 years...with a promise to give the rains to Skip when he is done.

Arkansas AD has been quoted as saying he is willing to make someone the highest paid coach in the college ranks if that is what it will take to get the right guy at Arkansas. Petrino was I believe the 7th highest paid coach in America.

I hope that he does. Hopefully the AD has learned his lesson about picking the right guy.
