Uh-Oh

Postby Eric » Sat Nov 17, 2012 10:14 pm

Kansas State is having discipline issues and hasn't been able to move the ball against Baylor. Their backup safety is continually getting burned over the top by Baylor's really good receiving corps and I wonder if they have an answer for this. Meanwhile in Eugene, Oregon can't execute against Stanford and the Cardinal have limited them to zero points thus far nearing halftime. This is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad for those of us who want the SEC and Notre Dame out

I don't have a problem with Alabama climbing back in it this year. I had a problem last year when they got to play a rematch. I will always think that was wrong, but if Oregon and/or KState fall then I have no problem with Bama in the champioinship game. If they play Notre Dame I will root for the Tide like they were Buckeyes.

In their initial scoring drive, Stanford nickel and dimed it mostly with screen passes to the right.

I can imagine a very interesting halftime speech by Coach Snyder that will steer the ship in the right direction for K-State in the second half.

I edited my post to include Notre Dame. 8)

I really don't want to see either school in it. Mostly because I think it would be lame. Kansas State and Oregon have never been in positions to win national titles, so I think it would be more interesting than seeing Alabama for the third time in four years. Plus, Notre Dame is Notre Dame

The other thing both of these teams winning would avoid is a 2011 redux. If all three of the undefeateds somehow lose and Florida beats Florida State, we're looking at an Alabama/Georgia vs. Florida national title. I just don't even want to get to the point where this is a possibility.

I agree with that. I will never believe two teams from the same conference should be in the NCG. I don't care what conference they belong too.

Even though I didn't believe they should be in the NCG last year, I have alway been a little bit of a Bama fan. Their fans are a lot like most Buckeye fans - we wear our blinders proudly.

Yeah, Kansas State is toast. They've been absolutely horrendous. Horrible angles, missed tackles, backup safety doesn't know what he's doing, wide receivers dropping wide open passes, receivers not getting separation from one of the worst secondaries in the FBS, Klein making terrible throws, receivers running routes in the same area, lineman not blocking in open space, defensive lineman jumping offsides, etc. This is seriously the worst I've seen a number one team play, EVER. I can't recall a number one team in the nation playing this horrifically this late in the season when their resume was already established, except maybe 2003 Oklahoma, although what they had going for them was that 2003 Kansas State was actually a good team. This Baylor team is mediocre as mediocre gets.

I'm not going to jump on the, "Kansas State was exposed!" bandwagon that will inevitably spring up because they've already put in their hours dominating the Big 12 this year. But you can't possibly excuse this terrible performance.

If you told me this team was 3-7 heading into this game, I would enthusiastically believe you. I can't even tell the difference between them and Kansas right now.

The stars are aligning for the Dawgs. If Oregon loses in this OT and they beat GTech and Bama, they could be in.

Though I don't expect them to drop Oregon and K-State below GA. I know that's cynical, but watch and see that's exactly what will happen.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Kansas State will get dropped pretty hard for that effort. I think they'll fall behind Florida State. Maybe not in the BCS standings, but in the human polls.

We shall see....since Oregon just dropped it.

The only thing I can't stand about this, is that ND is in the NCG if they beat USC. And I think there is a good chance of that.

COME ON USC!!!!

I'm going against protocol and cheering for Notre Dame. They're our only hope against an all-SEC title. Florida State could back into it if they beat Florida and USC wins next week.

Ditto.

Stanford looked solid tonight. They stuck to their game plan like glue. Since Stanford beat Oregon and they both have one conference loss, it snarls the Pac 12 North title situation. Stanford and Oregon each have a conference game next week, it should be interesting.

I'm a SC fan next week. I'm not rooting for Notre Dame. It would be cool to see Alabama shred them, though.

Deciding who to cheer for in an Alabama / Notre Dame championship game would really test my limits. I don't even want to think about it. Let's just hope it doesn't go there :D
