The Heisman....Maybe it should go back to its roots.

The Heisman Trust Mission Statement, which reads:

Te'o is a legit choice as is Manziel IMO. I wouldn't have a problem with either. I wouldn't give it to Klein because of the Baylor game. I would agree with him being invited, but not a winner. It is hard to find the most outstanding football player. Positions are so very different. I always thought Orlando Pace should have won when he was a Buckeye. I didn't think Troy Smith was the best player. The voters tend to vote for the best player on the best team. I think they should look at all players on all teams and pick the one they think is best. I think the problem lies with the fact that voters don't see lots of games. They don't know about some of these players, unless ESPN starts to hype them.

IMO, Spence is correct, most of the voters vote for whoever is being hyped.

I'm not sure they alway vote for the best player, just the best player on the best team team.

I would vote for Manti Te'o over Johnny Manziel. It's not the stupid anti-freshman unwritten rule for me, I just think that Te'o fits that description the best. But I believe Johnny Manziel has this thing locked down.

1. We need more people with his attitude....athlete or not.
2. He seems like the real deal as an individual....
3. No question about his football talent.

4. ND has one heck of a public relations department.

He gets my vote.

I was torn between Johnny Manziel and Manti Te'o, Johnny for his play at A&M also being from a High School that I played against when I was in H.S. Te'o for being from Hawaii it was great to see him recognized for his play at LB great to a defensive player named! Congrats to Johnny and THE AGGIES!!
