Re: Big East = Dead League Walking
The B-East dissolving is probably the best thing to happen to Boise State. That move only made sense from an automatic bid standpoint for Boise. I think the bad would have out weighed the good very quickly.

I think Boise will just wait and watch.....they have until July to make a decision....may cost them $10 mil.....on the other hand, if the league has changed substantially, they may make an argument, this is not what we bought into....who knows how these agreements are written.

I can't see the league being able to enforce an exit fee. Not after what has happened.

Re: Big East = Dead League Walking
TCU jumped ship just before their first season in the Big East, and they did not have to pay any penalties, as they had cited that the security of conference alignment was in question, and they no longer had faith in the move.
Now they are playing in the Big 12, which is where they belong.
And so, Boise would simply need to show how Big East policy has worked in the last year alone . . . I doubt an exist fee would be enforce . . . and if Boise wanted to make a case out of it, the Big East would not be able to offer a reliable counter point.
