Hello from the ‘Burgh’…….

Postby Mountainman » Sat Sep 14, 2024 10:44 am

………just hanging out waiting for the game. Hopefully Ole Neal has the pass defense figured out or this could be a long day and a long drive back to Wild and Wonderful.

We’ll see……. ENJOY THE GAMES!!!!!! :D

It’s deja vu all over again……..

“West Virginia (1-2) had a chance to put Pitt away one possession prior, but as it did two years ago in crunch time, couldn't move the sticks and was forced to punt the football away.”

Honestly, both West Virginia and Kentucky had similar endings.

Only difference, is that West Va gave up their lead later, and Kentucky just abandoned what was working.

Neal Brown must have lapsed in his brain. His play calling got very bland at the end on offense. If you're gonna run the clock, the get the first down so that you can keep the ball while the clock is running. Just holding it for three plays then punt doesn't get the job done, and gives the other guy the chance to ... ... ... well, do what Pitt did.

Kentucky, on the other hand, was moving the ball well. They had plenty of time, with no need to put the ball in the air.

However, Stoops decided it would be best to try passing the ball and disregard the fact they were beating Georgia up front. Then you punt, after using as much clock as you did, with a 1 point deficit ..? Okay.

There were blunders abound yesterday, and I'm not sure what to make out of the state of things.

I never got a chance to watch a football game this weekend. Maybe the first time ever.

Lucky you, here how I spent my Saturday…….. while listening to ‘Sweet Caroline’.

“On Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 7:30 PM in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the “Climb” promised by Neal Brown six years ago officially died. West Virginia was ahead 34-24 with 4:55 remaining and had just thrown a touchdown pass to Justin Robinson that, by all accounts, should have sealed the game. The Mountaineers had gone on a 9-play, 68-yard drive culminating in Robinson’s one-handed catch. West Virginia led 34-24, and the Pitt Panthers SHOULD. HAVE. BEEN. DEAD. At that point, the Panthers had managed just 4—F.O.U.R.—total yards. You only needed one hand to count their total offense; even Jason Pierre-Paul could. Yet somehow, Pitt proceeded to go 75 yards in five plays to cut the score to 34-31. After a three-and-out by West Virginia, the Panthers marched 77 yards in six plays to win the game.”
