Boise State Demanding 1 Million Dollars

That is what they want guaranteed to travel to Lincoln, NE. I wasn't aware that teams did that for a home and home arrangement.

A story in the Omaha World-Herald says Nebraska tried to get Boise State on the schedule for next season, as part of a two-for-one, a one-game contract, or even a home-and-home, but Boise wanted a minimum $1 million guarantee to make the trip to Lincoln.

They talk about playing anyone, anywhere, anytime, but throw out demands like this, even when Nebraska was willing to do a straight home-and-home.

They want a seven-figure guarantee, which is something that low-level and I-AA teams do when they go play BCS powers.

There may be another side to this story. Nebraska was willing to pay 650,000 and 700,000 for "fodder" schools....so would a third ranked team be worth 50% more....and asking is not negotiating......Nebraska wants mileage for not taking the trip. Baloney.....

Tell them to call the Buckeyes. Ohio State pays 1.4 to come into the 'Shoe. They won't even argue.

Yeah, that story was from a Nebraska newspaper, so I would expect some slant. And would they be worth more to Nebraska? Probably not, as they have sold out their stadium for some huge number of consecutive games.

On home and homes...FSU pays nothing and I assume that Ohio State does the same.

To have a one and done...you have to pay since the other team can't make money on their half at home.

I can't imagine paying for a home and home.

Ohio State probably wouldn't play home and home.

Probably not....someone from Ohio State probably visited Boise once and there is one of those red circles with a slash over it on their map. AND...if you really don't want to play the Nebraska's, FSU's, Ohio State's, Arkansas's, etc...jack the price up. Like it or not, their scheduling has not been without a plan and it has worked for them. Will their ego get in the way...already has...but seems to me we have discussed this once or twice or googleplex times. :)

Actually I have heard Boise is a pretty cool place to visit. I want to get out there one day. My map doesn't have any red circles with a slash - at least not yet.

I thought your map had one around Ann Arbor.

Big Stadiums up there...I once visited at Michigan and Ohio State. Our stadium at the time was about 50,000 seats and I was impressed by the huge stadium crowds.

A mill???? Have you been to Nebraska?

OK, you are driving down the road, and there is a corn field on your left and a corn field on your right. Now stop, focus, take a mental picture....Shazaam...You've Seen Nebraska!

The Big House holds around 113,000 now. Still the quietest 113,000 people in any stadium.

You are right about the Michigan stadium not being all that loud.
