Note how this guy got the final score wrong "50-0". I see this all the time and I find it ridiculous, bad grammar, typos, and bad story development. Few people can write well anymore.

607 yards of offense for BSU, of which 310 of that was passing...

But its not what it looks like, right? BSU's depth was not highlighted at all in this game because....

NMSU didn't even take the field

So lets just ignore it cuz it (the game) never really happened -- that way Boise's 3 out of four games being away from home don't even have to added into the equation. That counts for nothing...

And everybody knows BSU would get smeared by the Crimson Tide -- it would be unsportsman-like to even allow them on the same field together -- ever - like gladiators... oh, gladiators vs bottom feeders...

Cuz only the SEC produces Gladiators. And the WAC, well they just furnish the dog food....

I like that thinking... :P

While Bama has a good team, they have been beaten by a WAC TEAM in the past, and as we have seen already this season any team could rise up and surprise you on any weekend.

You missed the sarcasm in the silverfox post. Or was your comment about Hawaii beating Alabama equally sarcastic?

The best WAC team, in unusual circumstances, did once beat Alabama. In 2003, Alabama was 4-9, on probation and missing scholarships.

But a nice 8 point win for the best of the WAC that year. Now, I would be impressed if they had beaten LSU, Mississippi, or Georgia that year. Or even Arkansas, Tennessee, or Florida.

2003 is a long time ago.

I like to think more about the present or at least this season. Who was that first WAC team that Bama beat this year and how could Bama be given a number one ranking for beating such a bottom feeder and at home yet? Must not have been SOS cuz that is a laugh -- just as much of a laugh as BSU's win over NMSU. But yet Bama held onto a number 1 ranking and BSU drops to 4... Thats because there is a political bias in the system.

That bias is supposedly based on SOS but "forwarding looking" SOS and anticipation rather than the actual "current" effort.

Now with that said lets just forget about the actual football games themselves and just look at the ability of the schedulers and the bankers. Why risk pre-bowl injuries - just let all the teams sit out for the season and let the SOS predetermine the bowls and just play the bowl games.

Why can't we just stop kidding ourselves about the political bias of the system. The only reason a Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi Arkansas and Florida are your mentions is because they are the politically correct elite called the SEC and they play only the most powerful teams to deserve their spots in this mindless game of polling. They would never ever "fluff" their schedule with powder puff teams like SJSU or NMSU -- after all, everybody knows those two teams are WAC bottom feeders...Yet, Alabama played them and beat them and were rewarded #1 for that great effort.

I'm not saying BS should have jumped up because of a win over the worst of the bottom dwellers -- but considering apples to apples this victory for the Broncos was decisive (with no points scored against) and AWAY while Alabama's was also decisive (with 3 points scored against them) and at HOME - very impressive for a number one ranking at the time.

Wasn't 2003 the year Ark beat Boise 41-14. Whatever season it was it was Boise's only loss. Arkansas lost 5 or 6 games that year after beating Boise. It might have been 2002. Ark has played Boise twice in the 2000's....winning both games. Boise game close to beating Ark in 2000 I believe...Ark lost 6 games that year.

Actually, the reason that I mentioned LSU, Tennessee, and Mississippi was that they won ten games or more that year while the others mentioned at least won eight. A win over one of these teams would mean something. Alabama with it's 4 wins was a bottom dwellar of the SEC.

Just pointing out that when you crow about Hawaii beating Alabama, it was the case of the best team in the WAC playing a team at the bottom of the SEC.

But that's OK....Myself? I like to point out that FSU beat Bama and Saban in 2007. The uninformed are often impressed.

Quit bashing Boise. I thought we were not supposed to do that. Facts don't matter.

Games this week...

From the current AP poll

# 1 vs 19
2 vs 20
8 vs 11
12 vs 14
13 vs 23
16 vs USC
17 vs 18

A lot of "play off" games. Meanwhile, Boise moves up from New Mexico State to Toledo and Utah plays Iowa State. A bunch of good teams will drop since there will be guaranteed losses in the Top 25....Boise and Utah will not be tested.

OK... "A Bunch of Good Teams will drop" --- Oh poor babies...

This one I like though -- A team get voted #1 after beating a Bottom Feeder to start the season....
Alabama Football Opens Season With 48-3 Win Over San Jose State

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 1 ranked Alabama football team piled up 591 yards of offense, while allowing just 175 yards on defense en route to a 48-3 win over the San Jose State Spartans in its season opener before a sold-out crowd of 101,821 at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. Senior quarterback Greg McElroy finished the night 13-of-15 passing for 218 yards and one touchdown while redshirt freshman running back Eddie Lacy led all rushers with 111 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns. Sophomore running back Trent Richardson added 112 yards of offense (66 rushing, 46 receiving) and two touchdowns for the Crimson Tide.

Of course SOS had nothing to do with this, right? Political Bias in Polling. I am going to start calling this the "PBP Factor".

On any given day the best team for that day wins. All these teams play a schedule. The fact they play another ranked team and lose and then "drop"? Hey that's football. I suggest to you that Bama was not tested on their opening game at home against a bottom feeder WAC team. Therefore they did not deserve that ranking because of the LOW status of SJS.

Season is still young and anything can still happen -- because according to the followers of the sacred cow everything is predetermined anyway, which explains why a number 1 team can play a bottom feeder and still come out #1 despite the fact that there were other ranked teams on opening day that "dropped out" because they were beaten by another ranked team.

As I see it the rules only change because of PBP.
