A great hire by Cal in my opinion. If Dykes could find a staff that could concentrate more on the defensive side of the ball, I think he could lead one of the best programs in the country. He is basically schooled in the Texas Tech tradition offensively, and this move reinforces the Pac-12's turn towards offensive-minded coaches. I think Cal could be a program to be reckoned with in a few years. They're going to have to find a QB who is competent enough to run the offense, but it can be done.
Think of the offenses in this conference: Mike Leach, Rich Rodriguez, Todd Graham, Chip Kelly, and now Sonny Dykes. This oughta be fun
